The Esmée Charm
There was two women by the water, captured by Georges Seurat in 1884 in oil paint. Then there was Esmée… A circus ballerina, caught in the wrong era. With locks of flame, she is inclosed by the World, yet she is like in a dance.
First thought as an ear stick but weighed about 30g when cast.
Once Upon A Time…
Always in Strange Dance, Forever in flight, from and with her Cage: The World which incapsules her. Her home.
Left picture is when soldering. Background is after casting.

3D Render
She fights for freedom and justice!
The video is “rendered”, which means it does not exist, it is a digitially created model. The Woman in The Cage has been drawn as a 3D model, before printing in wax.
On Carmen’s old D&G bag. The blue bead is Persian, the painted flower bead is African, the moss-colored one is a reminder to always seek water. The sunflower bead is a nod to Georges Seurat’s painting: “Women by the Water”, 1884. A red bow to represent the Esmée’s red locks. Bound with Silk Thread.
